Subject–Verb Agreement

Subject–Verb Agreement क्या है?

Subject–Verb Agreement का मतलब है कि Sentence में Subject और Verb आपस में Number (Singular/Plural) और Person के हिसाब से सही रूप में match करें।

आसान भाषा में: Subject जैसा होगा, Verb वैसा ही लगेगा।

ये क्यों ज़रूरी है?

अगर agreement गलत होगा तो sentence गलत लगेगा।

 He go to school.
He goes to school.

यहाँ Subject = He (singular)
तो verb भी singular चाहिए = goes

1. Singular Subject = Singular Verb

अगर Subject एक है (He, She, It, Name, Single noun) तो Verb में s / es लगेगा (Present Indefinite में)

He runs.
She sings.
Ram eats mango.

क्योंकि Present Indefinite में Singular subject के साथ verb में s लगता है।

2. Plural Subject = Base Verb

अगर Subject plural है (They, We, You, plural noun) तो Verb बिना s के लगेगा।

They play.
We go.
Boys run.

Plural subject के साथ verb base form में आता है।

3. I और You Special Case

I और You singular दिखते हैं
लेकिन verb plural जैसा लगता है।

I go
You go

 I goes (गलत)

4. Two Subjects joined by AND

अगर दो subject AND से जुड़े हों → Plural

Ram and Mohan are friends.
She and I go to school.

क्यों?
क्योंकि दो लोग हैं = plural

5. Each / Every

Each, Every हमेशा singular माने जाते हैं।

Each student is ready.
Every boy plays well.

Each students are ready (गलत)

क्यों? क्योंकि “Each” एक-एक को दिखाता है।

6. Everyone / Someone / Anyone

ये दिखने में plural लगते हैं लेकिन grammar में singular हैं।

Everyone is happy.
Someone has called you.

7. There is / There are

Verb पास वाले noun के हिसाब से लगेगा।

There is a pen.
There are many books.

8. Uncountable Nouns = Singular

Information
Furniture
Advice
Milk
Water

इनके साथ हमेशा singular verb

The information is correct.
The milk is fresh.

9. Either / Neither

Singular verb लगेगा।

✔ Either boy is guilty.
✔ Neither answer is correct.

10. A number of / The number of

A number of → plural
The number of → singular

A number of students are absent.
The number of students is increasing.
