WH-Words का प्रयोग प्रश्न वाक्य, साधारण वाक्य और विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य बनाने के लिए किया जाता है। अधिकतर WH-Words WH से शुरू होते हैं, केवल HOW अपवाद है।

WH-Words का प्रयोग 3 प्रकार के वाक्यों में होता है

1. प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य (Interrogative Sentence) (?)
2. साधारण वाक्य (Assertive / Simple Sentence) (.)
3. विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य (Exclamatory Sentence) (!)

1. प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य (Interrogative Sentence) (?)

जब सवाल पूछा जाता है।

Rule:

WH-word + Helping Verb + Subject + Main Verb ?

Helping Verbs:

do, does, did
is, am, are
was, were
will, has, have

Examples:

What do you want?
Where are you going?
Why did he come late?
When will you return?
Which book do you like?

❌ Who do you call?
✅ Who calls you?

Because WHO itself works as a Subject.

2. WH-Words in Simple / Assertive Sentence (.)

यहाँ WH-word सवाल नहीं बनाता, बल्कि जानकारी देता है।

Examples:

I know where he lives.
Tell me what you want.
This is the boy who helped me.
I don’t know why she is angry.

3. WH-Words in Exclamatory Sentence (!)

WH-Words in Exclamatory Sentence (!)

जब strong feeling दिखाई जाए
(happiness, sadness, surprise, anger)

Only two WH-words are used:
WHAT and HOW

HOW – Exclamatory Rule

How + adjective / adverb + subject + verb !

Examples:

How beautiful she is!
How fast he runs!

WHAT – Exclamatory Rule

What + a/an + adjective + noun + subject + verb !

Examples:

What a beautiful girl she is!
What a day it is!
